At 11:56 AM on April 25, 2015, a 7.9 Richter scale earthquake struck Nepal. Kathmandu was shaken, but escaped the worst of it. However, many villages in the worst affected districts have been almost completely wiped out. As of June 1, a month after the frst quake, there have been more than 8,600 deaths and 22,000 injured.

Visiting the villages ourselves, we see that Nepalis are a resilient lot. They can smile in the face of total destruction, and invite us to share a meal, whatever little they have. And so we know, every little bit helps. If only to build a single house, or feed an extra mouth, it all adds up.
